Clarendon Description

Derbyshire has created an architectural masterpiece which is both sophisticated and practical. The brief was to design and build a contemporary two story home in an established neighborhood (on a relatively small block of land) with three bedrooms, ensuite, two living areas, an upstairs retreat, an open dining/living area as well as a large butler’s pantry off the kitchen. The client’s also required an extra-large garage with extra height roller door to accommodate a big van so these were additional things to consider during the design process. The home was to have clean lines and be thoughtfully designed with privacy and lifestyle in mind.

The façade is crisp white render with feature dark timber slats above the front entry and a custom timber clad garage door. A stunning staircase made with floating timber treads and glass balustrade sets the contemporary tone and creates a real wow factor as does the large ceiling void above the entrance and dining space.

Hydronic heating throughout as well as extra attention to details such as under tile floor heating in the ensuite makes for comfort in winter while the concealed split system in the bulk head over the kitchen and upstairs retreat keeps the fuss to a minimum.

Client care and building a great working relationship is at the heart of the Derbyshire philosophy. On handover the clients were thrilled with their new home and thought the whole experience had been easier than they had anticipated.
